Cherry Pick Vintage on Water Street
A flash-lit photo story from the opening of Cherry Pick Vintage’s new shop on iconic Water Street in downtown Vancouver.
A new home on Water Street
Cherry Pick Vintage opened a new shop on Water Street in downtown Vancouver, and I photographed the opening from the first arrivals through the full, lively energy of the night. I wanted the coverage to feel as social and textured as the space itself.
A space made by creatives
Shaelyn Edwards designed the denim curtains in the change rooms and created reworked pieces for the shop—taking vintage clothes Cherry Pick had sourced and turning them into something entirely new. Those details became an important part of the visual story.
Flash, movement, and the tiny details
I used direct flash and a vintage-inspired approach to hold onto the people, the clothes, the storefront, and all the in-between moments. The result feels less like a formal event recap and more like being dropped back into the night.
